A letter to Chairman Fred Upton and Ranking Member Henry Waxman:
The Patients’ Access to Responsible Care Alliance (PARCA) – a national coalition representing the interests of millions of patients and non-MD/DO health care professionals – has joined with other leading health care provider and patient advocacy organizations to urge you and your colleagues in Congress to oppose H.R. 2817, the “Protect Patient Access to Quality Health Professionals Act of 2013,” offered by Representative Andy Harris, M.D. This legislation would repeal an important patient-centered law which is aimed at ensuring that millions of Americans have greater access to quality health care services while at the same time helping to reduce overall health care costs by encouraging further competition in the health care marketplace among the nation’s health care providers. Broad Health Care Provider Coalition Calls on Congress to Reject Anti-Competitive, Anti-Patient Access Legislation
The Patients' Access to Responsible Care Alliance (PARCA), a coalition representing the interests of nearly one million non-MD/DO health care rpviders and the millions of patients that they serve accross the country, is calling on Congress to reject misguided and misleading legislation that would limit patient access to needed care, restrict patient freedom to seek care from teh provider or their choice, stifle competition in the health care marketplace, and result in increased costs for patients, health care providers, and the Federal Government.
A letter from PARCA in response to OPMís Request for Information regarding Multi-State Plan Nationwide Insurance Plans Offered through Exchanges. We believe that OPM would also benefit from the expertise and experience of the nationís non-MD/DO health care providers as well as state regulators with oversight of these insurance markets. Consequently, we are providing comments largely in support of those already submitted by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
